Marvel's Spider-Man

Marvel's Spider-Man

Spider-Man is an upcoming action-adventure video game based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man. It is being developed by Insomniac Games and to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4. It will be the first licensed game developed by Insomniac. The game will tell a new story about Spider-Man and is not tied to a film, comic book or video game. It will cover both the Peter Parker and Spider-Man aspects of the character and will feature an older and more experienced Spider-Man.

Gameplay

Spider-Man is an action-adventure game set in an open world modern-day New York City and played from a third-person perspective. Players will be able to use Spider-Man's abilities such as web slinging and wall-crawling as well as new gameplay elements, one of which will be the ability to traverse using parkour. Environmental combat, quick time events and stealth will also be featured in the game. Peter Parker (outside of his Spider-Man suit) will be playable in parts of the game and Mary Jane Watson will be playable in "key moments" of the game.

Development

In 2014, Marvel Games approached Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) wanting them to publish a Marvel game and to treat the game like a first party SIE title. The game will be the first licensed game developed by Insomniac Games after 22 years of developing intellectual properties they have created, such as SpyroRatchet & Clank and Resistance. Bryan Intihar, the producer of Sunset Overdrive and former community manager of Insomniac Games, is the creative director of the project and Ryan Smith is the game director. It is Intihar's first time working in that role on a game. The community manager of Insomniac Games confirmed that they are using Sunset Overdrive's modified game engine. The game features the largest production team ever for an Insomniac game. The game was announced during Sony's E3 2016 press conference on June 13. It will be the first in a series of games made by Insomniac and Sony and marks the start of Marvel Games' new strategy to work with the "best game companies" who are passionate about their characters.
In April 2017, Ryan Penagos, Vice President & Executive Editor of Marvel Digital Media, stated that the game would be released in 2017.At Sony's E3 2017 conference, the first gameplay demo was shown and it was announced that the game would be released in 2018. Shawn Layden, the president of SIE America and chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios later confirmed that Spider-Man, and SIE's other games announced for 2018 at the conference, will be released in the first half of 2018.

Farcry 5

Farcry  5

Far Cry 5 is an upcoming first-person shooter action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the eleventh installment and the fifth main title in the Far Cry series. It is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2018.

Gameplay

Similar to its predecessors, Far Cry 5 is an action-adventure first-person shooter set in an open world environment which players can explore freely on foot or via various vehicles. Unlike previous titles in the series where players take on the role of a set character, the game features a new character creator, which players can use to customize their character's appearances, gender and skin tone.Players have a variety of ranged and explosive weapons to fight against enemies, while the game will place a renewed emphasis on close-quarters combat compared to previous Far Cry titles by introducing a wider range of melee weapons. The game will also feature a recruitment system, in which players can recruit locals in the county to fight alongside them similar to the "Buddy" system used in Far Cry 2. In this "Guns for Hire" system, players need to convince other locals to join their cause, and every companion fighter has their own unique skills and personalities. Players can also tame wild animals through the "Fang for Hire" system, previously introduced in Far Cry Primal. The tamed wildlife will assist the player in combat and follow the players' orders. Different wildlife will have different combat patterns. A fishing mechanic will also be introduced. The campaign can be played individually or with a partner through the game's cooperative multiplayer mode. The game will also feature a map editor, whose features have been expanded from previous titles.

Development

The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with Ubisoft TorontoUbisoft KievUbisoft Shanghai, and Ubisoft Reflections offering assistance. Dan Hay, who was lead producer for Far Cry 3, was the lead director, with writing led by Drew Holmes, who had previously worked on BioShock Infinite and its downloadable content. The game will continue to use the Dunia Engine, a modified version of the CryEngine which the Far Cry series has used for several titles. The team chose Montana as the game's setting, as the state lies on the frontier of the United States. To create a realistic environment, the development team visited Montana for fourteen days to collect information regarding its biomes, environment, and the "self-reliant" nature of the locals, who do not want any authority or outsider to intervene in their life. The development team had previously carried out a similar research excursion to Nepal during development of Far Cry 4. As the development team was no longer satisfied with having one core antagonist in each game, the cast of antagonists was significantly expanded.
After the release of Far Cry Primal in 2016, Ubisoft stated that the next Far Cry title will take more development time and will not be released in 2017. Far Cry 5 was announced by Ubisoft during the company's financial call, alongside two other major titles, The Crew 2 and Assassin's Creed Origins, which are scheduled to be released in fiscal year 2018.Ubisoft released several teaser trailers and the game's cover art ahead of the game's official reveal on May 26, 2017. The game is set to be released for Microsoft WindowsPlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 27, 2018 with support for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. Free skin packs will be available for PlayStation 4 players at launch due to a marketing deal between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Ubisoft.
